Yesterday was another great Opening Day with the T-Ball Division of Tiny Tigers and the Boys and Girls Club!. There was over 75 kids in attendance who had the opportunity to hear from Tigers Legend Willie Horton.

On Tuesday, we hosted the Tigers @Nike RBI Baseball and Softball teams at the ballpark. In preparation for the RBI East Regional tournament at the end of this month, they received their gear, took BP on the field and got headshots taken!

Gloves for Kids presented by Dunham’s is proud to support youth teams with a new partnership!. Leveling the Playing Field launched an equipment donation bin at Birmingham Ice Arena collecting new and gently used baseball and softball gear, with support from The Petry Foundation

Earlier this week, Tiger significant others worked with Capuchin Soup Kitchen to restock the food pantry and organize clothing in the clothing distribution area of Capuchin Services Center. This center assists metro Detroiters, in need , with food and clothing services annually

As part of our Military Appreciation efforts, Tigers staff visited the new Fisher House Detroit near the VA Medical Center. The Tigers Foundation donated $30,000 to support free lodging for families of hospitalized veterans and presented a jersey to mark its 99th opening.

This past weekend was Play Ball Weekend in Detroit!. On Friday, local Detroit softball players were invited to watch the Tigers take BP. We hosted a free baseball clinic at the Detroit Riverfront and gave tickets to athletes who played in the Black Baseball Motor City Classic!

This past Tuesday, in partnership with UMPS CARE charities, the Tigers recognized graduates from the Official Leadership Program!. The free six-week clinic teaches male and female participants ages 13-18 the fundamentals of umpiring and prepare them to work as officials!
