Nov 2, 1911: For the first time in the short history of the series, the same two coaches faced each other in consecutive seasons: #Clemson’s Frank Dobson (in center, wearing tie) and Carolina’s J H Neff. The Tigers recorded their 3rd straight shutout over the Gamecocks, 27-0.

Nov 1: Two historic #Clemson coaching events occurred on this day. In 1969, Frank Howard got his 165th and final win, 40-0 over Maryland at Death Valley. In 2008, Dabo Swinney won his first game (of 183 thus far) with a 27-21 road victory over Boston College.

Oct 30, 1902: The story of this game is not so much that it was 1 of only 3 total games John Heisman lost in his 4 years at #Clemson, or that it was SC’s first win over the Tigers since 1896, but rather the post game riots which caused the suspension of the series until 1909.

Oct 29, 1914: Times were hard around the South, but 4,500 still showed up at the fairgrounds stadium to see the Tigers and Gamecocks tangle. #Clemson, coached by Bob Williams - who made four different stops at Clemson during his coaching career - wore down SC 29-6.

Oct 27, 1973: #Clemson football makes its 8th appearance on TV - not for the season, but ever. It was their first televised game since 1968. The opponent, NC State, was in 4 of those games. The eventual ACC Champ Wolfpack didn’t have much trouble with the Tigers, winning 29-6.

Oct 26, 1922: The Tigers had failed to score a point against the Gamecocks the two previous meetings and they were hungry for a win. Despite South Carolina dominating the statistics, a late 30 yard FG by Charlie Robinson gave #Clemson all the points they needed for a 3-0 win.
