Leaving England today for Australia. It’s been a wonderful time thanks to the kindness and generosity of people I know and those I’ve only just met. Thanks especially to Ian Duhig for showing me around and beyond Leeds.

My thanks to Ian and Jane for the tour of Ilkley and Bolton Abbey. Zaffar Kunial’s ‘England’s Green’ seemed the perfect title for the landscape. A black-headed gull, a trout fisherman spelling the air with casts, ruins, great conversation

Mousehole is indeed a magical place. Dylan Thomas used it for the fishing village in Under Milkwood and this bloke lives here

Thinking back to the days when sport and poetry were cut from the same homespun cloth. I would have liked to have shown this poem to Mick Imlah, cricketer & winger who captained the 1st 15 rugby at Magdalen college, Oxford. @MosmanCricket @MCSOxford
