35% of the people who watch my channel and others like mine on YouTube don’t believe what our prophets teach about marriage. And this is all age demographics. Over 7k respondents in the survey conducted by @EthersElephant. In the younger demographic it’s likely closer to 50%.

Who is the specific “brethren” that have PUBLICLY and REPEATEDLY said they do not like MY public comments. Please give names or please stop making false public allegations against me. Making false claims about what others have said about me is wrong.

@ThoughtfulSaint My sole claim is that your public comments about Aaron Sherinian constitute activism against the Church, something that the Brethren have repeatedly - and publicly - said they do not appreciate. 3/.

I would like to ask @StallionCornell to please give the specific names of the brethren you have spoke to and what they said about me. Or are you going to continue making claims without any receipts to back them up?.

@ThoughtfulSaint It is so odd that this is your takeaway from our discussion. It’s even odder that you could possibly think the Brethren who hired Aaron Sherinian would appreciate how you’re conducting yourself here.

Apparently Taylor Petrey does not know the different between a doctrine (an official truth claim) and a practice (an application of a truth in a particular context). But I get it. Writing queer theory papers about how heaven is non binary takes up a lot of time.

If you imply that current doctrine around marriage cannot change…. You are implying our past sealing doctrines before 1998 are not true and the prophets who taught them are false. So not only are you wrong, you are engaging in undermining the church. See how stupid this is?.

Yes. The prophets have explicitly and repeated said the doctrine cannot change. You just don’t believe them.

Current doctrinal truth claim: Marriage is exclusively the union between man and woman and not two people of the same gender. If this definition of marriage is true why would it change? Why would President Nelson say it can’t change? How would it change?. Be specific.

this is bad logic. I think Jacob is right that the church's doctrines on marriage and chastity are not going to change again, but it is not true that recognizing the possibility of future changes implies that the doctrine as it stands today is false.

When people go to grok to see if I am right…. And they find out I am. The claim that a Joseph Smith was a convicted con man is a lie.

Actually there is no official record of Joseph ever being convicted and in 1830 he was tried on these same charges by 4 different judges who all acquitted him and the constable who arrested him (and initially treated him badly) apologized. Try again. If you want to know.

Before founding Mormonism, Joseph Smith ran a scam business using a magical "seer stone" which he said directed him to buried treasure on people's property. In 1826, he was put on trial for ripping so many people off. In 1827, he just happened to dig up the "golden plates".

@ThoughtfulSaint @WardRadioShow Jacob, why would the Church appease the anti-Church activist who has been relentlessly attacking their spokesman since he was hired? This would be like having them publicly dialogue with Kate Kelly about why we don't ordain women.

Translation: “Don’t risk exposing what you actually believe, we don’t want people knowing that even high level officials in the church reject the core ideas of the family proclamation” . This is how activists in the church operate.

I’m officially inviting Aaron Sharinian @ASherinian on my show to discuss the current controversy. I would be happy to let him fully express his feelings on the matter and frankly I would be happy to be wrong in some of my assumptions and would like to clear the air clarify.

Hey @WardRadioShow let’s have a show where I talk with him. Having him clear the air with me would be great. I have a lot of sway with people who are concerned about him and a good clarifying conversation on your show with you moderating would be amazing.

Hey Guys, Aaron Sherinian is a “good dude” and a faithful guy….I spoke again with him this morning for about 15-20 minutes, and, I gotta tell you. I think we are lucky to have him and I would be pleased if he were in my ward. I know he’s received a lot of pushback for his.
