“GOODBYE SNOW” Was this Charles O’Connor’s alternative title for #DriveTheColdWinterAway? No! It’s a lyric from Charles’ #MadPat.
"Charles O'Connor used to play with a fiddle player in the north east who used to blow the excess rosin off his fiddle and say 'goodbye snow', says @Stibs . That worked its way into the lyrics of Mad Pat. And, to add to the fun, Horslips become an adjective in their own song.

Uaneen Fitzsimons from Ardglass, Co Down is 20 years gone today. I kept this cutting from the Belfast Telegraph. The car accident meant tragic loss to her family and friends. As a viewer I just remember her as being charming.

I’m wrapped up warm and walking today. From a distance a few snow-capped peaks peeking above the Inishowen horizon. On the right I see Slieve Snaght, which Wiki says is named since it is snow-prone until May when wondrous things are born.

Here’s a clip from that interview with Barry Devlin and Jim Lockhart on @RTEArena where they discuss remastering. Elsewhere Jim explains that, among other things, the vocals are lifted in this 2025 remastered #DriveTheColdWinterAway. It’s on white vinyl! Full interview below.
Mastery not Mystery! #JimLockhart and #BarryDevlin on @RTEArena tonight Nov 4th. They talk about the organic origins of Horslips’ 1975 #DriveTheColdWinterAway and why the new 50 year anniversary vinyl edition might sound a smidgeon different. #AbbeyRoad

Christopher Robin was listening to something. “Can you hear it?” he asked Eeyore. “What is it? Somebody laughing?” “Listen.” They both listened… and they heard a gruff voice saying in a singing voice that the more it snowed the more it went on snowing. Tiddely-pom. ~A.A.Milne

The snow and the frost are all over and it’s feeling colder than black marble by the sea. #Horslips
#DriveTheColdWinterAway at #FiftyYears
Across the meadow, up the drive, and through the soonly melting snow came #DriveTheColdWinterAway. The dilemma now is microwave or skillet?
