Yesterday was my first day having clients back in the room… It felt strange, somehow like my first day again!! But it was also lovely. I’d not realised how lonely consulting was on our own! #vetsoftwitter (photo of milly because ❤️)

I didn’t feel like running today, so I said just 30 minutes easy. When I hit that it felt so good to be out in the cold air by myself I just carried on… I can’t even contemplate when I last ran for an hour. Or when running (whatever the pace) felt easy ❤️ #postpartumrecovery

So many incredible moments at this years #LondonVetShow - most of all the irreplaceable connection with incredible humans. But this was my take home moment of quietness among the frenzy… “So you’re going to be up there speaking Mummy??” What a privilege to have you there ❤️

Well. That’s it… I’m about to drive into work for the first time since having a baby. I don’t feel like a fully functioning vet, but I do look like one, right?! 🥴 I mean, I’ve got the stethoscope-round-the-neck accessory and my scrubs sort of fit #vetsoftwitter

Naively I thought I might be running the @RobinHoodHalf 6 months after having a baby… er, nope! 😅 But the sidelines were just as fab… and Fia was handing out smiles like they were Jelly Babies!! #RobinHoodHalfMarathon

Worried whether I can still speak in full sentences, get my baby to sleep early & locate my hairbrush 🥴 But that is part of my next chapter as a #veterinarywoman, juggling motherhood & career… which I hope we touch on this evening Hope you can join us ❤️

#Couchto5K is fabulous but I am incapable of doing intervals & not approaching it as a speed session 🤦🏼♀️ So I’ve returned to heart-rate based training (thank you @jenscotney coaching) & tonight I managed to slow down & listen to my body… in all her #postnatal rolly glory 🙌🏻

First solo @parkrun since having Fia nearly 5 months ago… 🏃♀️ Got carried away & ran way too fast 🐶 Sprinted off-course to catch escaped puppy running across the road 😭 Sobbed my way down the finish stretch after seeing Fia & Tom waving It couldn’t have been better ❤️

First @parkrun without the baby *Must. Not. Get. Carried. Away.* 😬😬😬 Although I’m running solo, I’m still sat watching the monitor hoping she wakes up in time to come and see me! Wake up Baby! (Have not said that in…. 5 months)

A very different #alevelresults2021 - it couldn’t have been a tougher year for all students but that toughness has not been spread equally. But the same message still applies. Not everyone’s journey is smooth, or what you expect. Never give up on yourself 😘
#ALevelResultsDay Most people’s paths are not what you think: Wanted to be a vet since I was tiny. Failed chemistry so badly I had to drop it. Went to art school instead, hated it. Still got into #vetschool If a door shuts, you just need to find a different route ❤️
