So grateful for a crazy weekend. Barcelona Special Event Champion! . It still feels surreal, but it happened, and I can only thank everyone for their messages of support on various platforms – they mean even more than this very pretty medal I got out of it.

Wondering what to run for Pokémon Go Worlds? . Team building in this meta revolves around Cradily/Dusclops as the go-to generalists to use or counter, and Dedenne/ShScizor as threats you'd want to be safe into. Not the most free or neutral format ever. Let's make the most of it!

I have checked my Libres for reference and this has been my worst run of form since 2021 – however, with a little help from my friends, I made it over the line at last. ggs to my opponents, hoping for some big September changes!

The state that Aegislash was released in is unacceptable. Shield form takes almost no damage, even against level 50 master league pokemon. Sword form 1 shots everything. And mine isn't even above 1400 CP. This is embarrassing and needs to be banned from pvp immediately.

I want to latch onto this complaint and strongly second this – after yet another week of OGL, I can confidently say that we've ascended to levels of non-interactive bullshit not seen since the early days of 2023. June's update was a swing and a miss – not excited for Anaheim.
Maybe a hot take, but this might be the worst OGL GBL meta since trev/noct/lant. Feels like playing for energy advantage doesn't exist anymore and playing aggressive almost always fails miserably. I'm hoping things are better in show 6 so that it's still a good meta for worlds.

Early 2026 season reminder that @playpokemon needs to come up with better incentives for shops to offer Go locals. This is the map of Go locals vs VG/TCG locals in my area, and at least within the general Hamburg area, it is not for a lack of asking.

I've personally been an advocate for big changes in September and March, and medium-sized changes in December and June before. I think that's still where I stand. The current meta could be good if we patched some RPS out, but we won't be able to do it in time before Worlds.

Okay, fine, I will be the first Regional Champion of the 2026 season. I'll also see y'all in Gdańsk, London and New Orleans – as well as at 3-4 additional events, depending on what else will be added to the schedule!

Revisiting last year's goals: I guess the 1k points thing was a success, as was the losers run improvement. Going into Worlds as the global #4 sure feels surreal, given that we crowned a couple dozen champions that merely didn’t play as much. But I'll back it up in August.
Jumping on this trend late (and yet prematurely, with NAIC still to follow). Goal for next season: Strengthen Loser Bracket performance. Lost to things out of my control in Liverpool and London and it took my focus. If that improves, I can shoot for 1k+ CP in 2025.

Happy with my own run as well – two ICs, two trophies. Got to face off against some fantastic battlers and showcase a fun team 🐸. Gameplay a lil shaky in clutch moments, but that just means there's room to grow. I may never get that second gold, but I'll take consistent Top 8s.
