Transformers Animated’s characters Lickety-Split and Lightbright were both named to reference other Hasbro properties. According to Bill Forster, this was not the original plan, but it seemed to work out just fine for the writing team. (2009/2010)

PotP Moonracer, PotP Novastar, Generations Selects Lancer, and Siege Greenlight all share the same basic mold. Siege Chromia and Generations Selects Nightbird also reuse parts from it, meaning one mold yielded six separate female characters. (2018- 2019)

In his original draft, Bob Budiansky had written Ratchet as a woman, but changed this detail after Hasbro insisted that Transformers was a boy’s toy line and that boys did not want girl characters in their toy box (1984)
