I set out on a dream when I was a young kid: become a baseball broadcaster. I just finished season 25 living that dream, last 19 with the @StPaulSaints. Many thanks to our front office, coaching staff, players, #MNTwins org., fans, family, friends, & my wife, @kailynmjohnson

One of the best people around. Was fortunate to cross paths with him in the @AA_Baseball when he was with the Shreveport-Bossier Captains and @SiouxCityXs. Great broadcaster but an even better man. He will be missed
We lost a legend today. RIP Dave Nitz. đź’™ https://t.co/EfwKtuVnrK

And it ends with a 2-1 win. Many thanks to our manager Toby Gardenhire and Clubhouse Manager Matt Tramp who got the entire team and staff to sign the “2000” baseballs and gave me the lineup card. Heartfelt thanks.

Tonight I will broadcast my 2,000th game in my @StPaulSaints career. It means 2 things: I’m old and I haven’t said anything egregious on air to get fired. In all seriousness thanks to my great co-workers for the plaque and my amazing wife, @kailynmjohnson for the note & cupcakes

For those responding to Bobby’s post upset it’s not Daniel Zebulon Matthews pitching Friday, 2 things: 1. Both will be up with the Twins this year 2. Zebby started for us Tuesday. There is a 0% chance he could throw on 2 days rest Carry on with the rest of your Twitter rage
Looks like it’ll be David Festa who starts for the Twins on Friday vs. Detroit. The Twins are planning to give their starters an extra day of rest between starts, so TBA is listed in the game notes for Friday’s pitcher. Festa was scheduled to start tomorrow at St. Paul.

Season number 25 as a broadcaster, the last 19 with the St. Paul Saints Baseball began tonight. 8-year-old me is smiling at the longevity of a dream I had almost 40 years ago. If you need me over the next 6 months I’ll be at the ballpark

You know the rules. If you ask me for free tickets this year, you have to purchase this, our newest food item, The Land of 10,000 Calories: 6 feet of foot long hot dog, topped with pulled pork, Mac & cheese, bacon & jalapeños, fries and 4 drinks

People talk about @CHSFieldStPaul being hitter friendly and the numbers back it up. Top 5 IL Park Factor ballparks for 2024: @swbrailriders - 117 @StPaulSaints - 114 @IowaCubs - 114 @KnightsBaseball - 113 @SyracuseMets - 111 #MNTwins Target Field 5th friendliest in MLB at 102

I’m putting this out there now before the next round starts, but if MLB wants to give the teams that get a bye an actual advantage then they should start the Division Series on Friday not Saturday. Forces the wild card teams to use their 4 & 5 starters or number 1 on short rest

I enjoy watching fan bases say things like, “If we hadn’t blown that lead late” or “If the manager had left the starter in longer we would have won” & thus their team would be X games better. True, but the teams you’re in the playoff race with could say the exact same thing

Broadcaster jinx, Exhibit A. I spend a minute talking about how #MNTwins Major League rehabber @OfficialBuck103 is supposed to play 9 innings but say “the best laid plans” then backtrack and at the 1:17 mark I say I expect him to play all 9. 30 seconds later he’s tossed.

Wonder if the highlights include my story about interviewing a stripper on a broadcast
Listen to highlights from our live #SABR52 Oral History interview with longtime @StPaulSaints broadcaster Sean Aronson (@thevoicebtv): https://t.co/f2dEw32cKV

I was the last opposing radio broadcaster to call a White Sox win. That was July 10. That was also the immaculate inning (which I completely missed). Apparently, I cursed them.

And thus concludes my 6 games in the Major Leagues. A dream fulfilled. So many people to thank but to everyone that listened I can’t thank you enough. To the #MnTwins organization, everyone involved made this a first class experience. It’s a week I will never forget.
