Dink 🩵 today last year Nearly 2 day's together. He was so tiny. His heart beat so rapidly & so hard it rocked his whole body. It freaked me out. We vetted him the day after he arrived & everything was good. He's the smallest of all 50+ dog's we've helped so it was a new exp.

I had a CT cardiac screening today. Results tomorrow or Friday. Praying nothing wrong is found. In a little over 2yrs I'll be the age my mom was when she died suddenly from a heart attack with a 90% blockage. This procedure would have discovered it so I felt like I should do it.

Yesterday marked 1yr since we were called about 2 puppies in a horrible breeding situation. We were reluctant due to all the loss & financial hardship our mission of rescuing & providing lifelong & end of life care for senior & special needs dogs brought but are so glad we did.
#Puppies 😍 Lilly & Dinks They're finally settling in & are more used to everyday sights/sounds. Better w going potty on pads or the backyard. Lilly's learned faster. She was kept in on the floor in a chipboard made pen. He was in a tiny mostly wire bottom crate off the floor.

My soul dog, the love of my life Dingo passed yesterday at 5:05pm 💔 at barely 11yrs old due to 3 cancer's. My heart is shattered, half my soul is missing. I'll never be the same. The pain is unbearable. He was the greatest gift. It was a privilege to be his mom. #dogsofinstagram

Sorry we've been inactive. My grandfather's graveside service was today. The accident, is a mess, a nightmare. He entered the interstate on the wrong ramp, collided head on w another vehicle & died on scene. It's a very dark area, lot's of accidents there. Please don't be unkind.

My grandpa died a few hour's ago in a head on collision on an interstate coming home. I'm so shocked, heartbroken. I've lost my whole immediate family except my dad. My mom when I was 23, my grandma nearly a yr ago & now my grandpa. My grandparents raised me. Can't believe this.

The most snow we've received here since I was 23 (I'm 44). It was beautiful for a day but in true North Carolina fashion it's been sunny & above freezing so half or more of it has already melted away. Would have been nice to have had it around a while longer. Grateful nonetheless

We have a foot of #snow & a few hour's before it stops. It was half way up our fence before dark. We've lived here since 2001 & can't remember seeing this much. Our past senior's would have loved it. Sad they didn't get to experience this. Iron Station, N.C. Just NW of #Charlotte

We have probably about 4 1/2 to 5 inches & it's going to continue throughout the day/evening. Remembering our 🌈senior's & all the fun they always had playing in it together. We'll never forget their joy. Really wish they were still here.

Thinking about 🌈Wombat & 🌈Malta today but I do every day. On this date both were diagnosed w osteosarcoma. Their cancer journey's were very different. Wombat died just day's after diagnosis (metastasis). Malta received treatment & lived a high quality life for 18+ more months.
#FlashbackFriday Malta & Wombat. Year's apart on the same date Jan 31st they were diagnosed w the same cancer, osteosarcoma. Wombat was misdiagnosed first & by time of diagnosis the cancer was in his lungs, he passed days later. In a way it feels like Malta's fighting for him too

We have our paws crossed for some snow finally! Hope we finally get some, it's been so long since we've got enough to matter. It'll be Dink & Lilly's first ever snow!
To put our weekend forecast in perspective. ❄️ Snowfall Totals❄️ We are currently forecasting 4-7" of accumulation. To put that into perspective, Charlotte hasn't seen a 5" snow event since 2004. This isn't just a dusting; this is a significant "stay-home" kind of storm. 🥶

Nothing changed overnight. Waiting to have an mri to get a look at his liver. He's had so many health issues the past few year's and just got the major issues with his pancreas taken care of last year. Hoping this is something manageable.

Today last year the nightmare became real. Little did we know how much worse it was than was visible by eye that day. CT scan a few day's later would show 3 very rare, aggressive, terminal tumor's that there was no treatment for. I was going to lose my soul dog, my everything

My grandpa was admitted to the hospital. Liver values are extremely low & inp extremely high. Takes warferin for a-fib so w his liver suddenly struggling his blood is way too thin. Going to have tests to find out what's going on. Yesterday was his birthday, he's 87.
