That’s the spirit!
At a recent meeting someone said “that’s a very high bar.” I replied “this is University of Michigan. There is no bar too high for our university. Don’t come to me with reasons why we can’t do something. Those are called excuses. Come to me with how we will exceed expectations”

Bob will be missed deeply by all his UCLA colleagues. He was an inspiration to me and countless other trainees and collaborators. He pushed us to think bigger and to work faster. More personally, he was a mentor to me as a new faculty member and became a dear friend. 4/5

I am deeply sorry to tell you that my UCLA colleague Bob Wayne passed away yesterday after an extended battle with cancer. Bob was a pioneer at using genomic methods to study demography and selection in populations of conservation concern. 1/5

Christine, I hope you're somewhere seeing this view of Priest Lake with a cold glass of La Crema Chardonnay. I'm sorry you had to carry so much burden of being the first and only woman to do so many things but we all thank you. For everything. 4/4.

This tweet and photo give me such joy! Welcome, Mireille, to the Bruin family! Can't wait to watch your star continue to rise from up close.
I’m excited to announce I’ll be joining @BioEngUCLA @UCLA as Assistant Professor in January 2023! #NewPI #AcademicTwitter When I was born in Burundi at the onset of civil war, the probability of achieving this milestone was near zero. Yet here I am. 1/n
