Have you ever heard a colleague say, “I like the older kids bc you can be sarcastic”. Yeaaaaaa. No. IF that works, it’s only AFTER you’ve established TRUST with a student. Strong-willed Ss who do not trust adults will never respond positively to sarcasm. Trust comes first.
