I try to be more of a sharer than taking sides, but personally - though it would have been fun to see a tomoesen (three man playoff), I’m pleased as punch for long striving Kotoshōhō sealing it right away. Aonishiki and Kusano will have their days and very soon I except. Omedetō.

Apologies to @DAlnoaman I reposted. I knew it was too confusing to talk about Taiho more than Washi. And if you didn’t know it - Taiho was half Ukrainian. Back in a time it was pretty tough to be mixed race in Japan.

Day15.Kotoshōhō was just as subdued as I expected in his yūshō interview. Quietly gave all the platitudes he needed. Announcers said that’s the most they’ve ever heard him talk. 🤗 Even mentioning it’s his lil’ brothers makuuchi debut didn’t pull a smile out of him. It’s his way
