Notably, SMIORE has been receiving the Five Star Rating award consistently for the past 10 years, since the inception of the Star rating awards by the Ministry of Mines, Indian Bureau of Mines.

Furthermore, acknowledging its commitment to sustainable development at its Kammathuru Iron Ore Mine, SMIORE has also been awarded a Five Star Rated Mine for the performance year 2023-24. The mine spans an area of 1,860.10 hectares.

SMIORE is the only mines from South India and first among the three selected Seven Star Rated Mines of the Country.

The award ceremony was held on 7 July 2025 at Rajasthan International Centre, Jaipur as part of the national event to felicitate Five Star & Seven Star Rated Mines of India.

This award is in recognition of our outstanding efforts and best practices in green mining by the @MinesMinIndia, @MinesBuro_India for its exemplary performance during year 2023-24.
