This year's second-place award goes to Praneet Kumaravel, seventh grade student at Jefferson Elementary School (Jefferson Elementary School District). Praneet is also a returning champion, placing second in the 2021 Elementary Division and first in the 2022 Elementary Division.

She placed first in the 2021 Elementary Division and second in the 2022 Junior High Division. The California State Spelling Bee championships for both divisions will be held at the SJCOE on April 27, 2024. #SJCBee.
