Year 4 have been learning about Ancient Rome. This week they learnt about the Punic Wars and the journey that Hannibal and his men went on to travel to Rome to defeat the Romans. The children re-enacted the journey of Hannibal and had so much fun!

It is our aim that all children at Richmond leave as confident, fluent readers who understand the joy of a brilliant book. With that in mind, this year we are working alongside @WSHEnglishHub and @LEADTSHub to achieve the Bronze Lincolnshire Reading Pledge.

In Year 4 we are learning all about the human skeleton. We were challenged to create a structure that would hold a tennis ball, mimicking how our skeleton supports our head. We learnt about broken bones. We pretended we had broken our fingers and learnt how to immobilise them.

This week Year 3 have been reading The Only Way Is Badger. The children have been thinking about the emotions of each character. Together we used evidence from the text to complete an emotion grid.

Y5 were really grateful for their visit from Mr Green this week. They worked hard on their table tennis skills – some of which were being used for the very first time.
