Couldn't be more excited to share that I've joined @corkprotocol as a co-founder and COO! 🍾. I am so pumped to bring another brand new DeFi primitive to market, as Cork creates the first protocol for pricing & tokenizing (depeg) risk ⛓️. This is a key building block for enabling.

Fast forward to today and the landscape looks a bit different. The DeFi community has been sobered up and is now pivoting toward “real yield.”. i.e. yield from things like trading fees, interest from borrowers, or other real economic activity rather than just token incentives.

And we all know what happened. The music stopped. The house of cards collapsed. The exit liquidity wasn't flowing anymore.

It was exhilarating, but of course it couldn’t last. Many early “high-yield” DeFi products were essentially printing money through token inflation to subsidize yields. All at the expense of new capital. I still love the term "ponzinomics" to describe it.

@vik_runa @0xmikko_eth @hexonaut We all remember the early days of DeFi, especially the DeFi Summer of 2020 when yield farming was like the Wild West. At a time when a traditional bank account or bond might give you maybe 5% annually, some DeFi projects dangled 1000%+ returns in front of users.
