"Cosmology is particle physics." This is not a demotion of one but the elevation of both into one seamless whole. Speaking of demotions... 🤔 Brace! Brace! Brace! 😉

Newtonian dynamics breaks down because reality becomes more detailed than its assumptions; MOND breaks down because it has no underlying reality to break down into.

AI Tip of the Day #1: Establish Productive Rules. Good rule - Use real-world, externally verifiable data only. Do not introduce synthetic examples, illustrative stand-ins, or consensus-based assumptions unless explicitly requested. Bad rule - Ignore consensus.

Copenhagen is not an interpretation of reality but a pragmatic rule for using equations while refusing to explain what they describe.

Going to Mars and asteroid mining aren’t exploration programs or industrial plans. They’re capital theater whose only reliable exit is taxpayer liquidity (bailouts for failed ventures). I’m not sorry I won’t lie about that.

Science loses trust when abstraction stops mapping the world and starts defending the model. The further physics moves into unobservable domains, the more it trades mechanism for mathematical insulation. People sense the shift, and they withdraw confidence.

Abstraction is a buffer between theory and observation, absorbing every contradiction. What remains is not explanation but maintenance of an internally consistent fiction.

This is how bubbles form: optimism built on assumptions the architecture cannot fulfill.

The gap between performance and understanding remains the central problem. Scaling cannot close it. Only a new architecture can.

More compute will not turn a calculator into a thinker. It will only produce a more refined calculator. If we mistake refinement for intelligence, we lock ourselves into a future defined by statistical mimicry rather than genuine cognition.

AGI requires a different kind of structure entirely: grounded models, internal causal coherence, and a capacity to generate knowledge rather than remix it.

Calling this “emergence” is marketing. It’s performance inflation. Nothing qualitative changes when the core remains matrix multiplication plus gradient descent.

Every architecture in use today is still a probabilistic sequence predictor wearing the costume of intelligence. The costume gets better. The mechanism stays the same.

Neural nets don’t think. They map tokens to likely continuations. Scaling them refines the map; it doesn’t create understanding, agency, or self-generated goals.

🧵 Synthetic Minds, Statistical Machines: The Truth about "AI" The industry keeps insisting that more compute plus more parameters equals “intelligence.” It doesn’t. It just yields a higher-resolution statistical echo of the data it was trained on.

While no single error explains the full anomaly, the total uncertainty budget of the period comfortably encompassed the magnitude of the eventual residual.

The Mercury anomaly is the remainder left after stacking imperfect corrections across a coupled system of interactors (Encke, etc.). General Relativity uses that remainder as evidence for curvature, but the residual itself is not pristine enough to support that interpretation.
