At this time, it sounds like any wave(s) we would get would be under 30cm, and would arrive in the Tofino area around 11:30pm tonight, and the South Island area after that. ~Shayne in the Newsroom.
The Tsunami Advisory continues for Notification Zones A, B, C & D. Waves of less than 1ft (0.3m) are expected to reach #Tofino at 23:30 PDT. As waves reach the #BC coast, expect multiple waves over time. Stay out of coastal waters & away from beaches & harbors. More info:

A 7.2 magnitude earthquake has occurred off the coast of Alaska this afternoon. BC officials are currently evaluating any possible tsunami threat, but as of now, there are not any advisories for the BC coast. ~Shayne #yyj.
