Back in the 70s, my mum would make ‘bang toffee’ for Bonfire Night. Was this a northern thing (they were from Huddersfield/ Bradford/Manchester area), or a weird family made up thing? No one left to ask now…

Back from giving a talk in Denmark where a group of local volunteer peeps get funded by the govt to promote small scale cultural events in public libraries. Imagine! Crazy Danes!
