He was running up and down, pleading with money lenders who had long taken his National ID and to date, they still have it. That day, I took him to CJs, hoping to give him relief. But still, he couldn’t hide the pain. And yet… through all of it, Mzee never gave up on us. Never.

I remember this day so clearly. He was seated there, but his mind was miles away - drowning in thoughts about an uncertain future for his children. He was battling a boda boda loan from YAKO BANK, and they had already threatened to repossess his bike because he had defaulted. >>>
