i love that the artist who fucked me over and abandoned our contracted project after i gave him a few thousand dollars advance just got a story at DC announced
i hope my irl friend who wrote the story understands why i am not supporting it with my wallet. it's not his fault this individual was assigned to his story

I’m sorry that and that’s happened Mario. Don’t worry karmas gonna catch up to them:

@lachwriter
ngl it made me angry and I have grown mistrustful & a bit more selfish in how I approach collaborators, worrying someone else I want to take care of and elevate is going to screw me over.
@maxpinelliart
Thank you for the kind words. The publisher was really helpful and patient as we found a replacement team. It was a hard time but we are finally seeing a release some time this year.
@TheOtherMarioC
Happened to me too, but with Kickstarter money. Free and clear, public persona, too little for small claims. My amazing wife saw him at a con and made him very uncomfortable, which is about the only justice he'll ever see.
@SalSaysWhat
Thank heaven for supportive spouses who aren’t afraid to make noise when you can’t. Anything that impacts you also impacts them sooner or later.
@TheOtherMarioC
As a hungry, unpublished artist trying to support their family, artists like this are infuriating to me. I’m so sorry that happened to you 🙏
@TheOtherMarioC
Yeah, had that happen to me too. Guy just ghosted on me after doing some concept art and two pages, then I see him drawing a Marvel book. It's why I'm always hesitant when artists ask me to pay for the first issue up front.
@TheOtherMarioC
Sorry to hear that. Even happens paying page by page. Two artists got higher profile gigs and had to be replaced. One mid mini-series, the other mid book. Hopefully you get the money back.
