7/8.I closed the session with a challenging call to action:.Use your voice. Support survivors. Speak up. Keep learning.

6/8.What made the session interesting was how interactive it was. The fellows shared, asked questions, and reflected deeply. Many left with a renewed understanding of what GBV truly looks like.

5/8.We discussed the cycle of abuse, the signs that many miss, and the reality that violence can happen to anyone, regardless of class or background.

4/8.We broke harmful myths:. “Violence only happens in poor homes”. “If he’s controlling, it is love”. “She provoked it”.All false.

3/8.We explored GBV beyond the physical: the emotional, psychological, financial, and digital forms that often go unseen. And how abuse doesn’t need to leave scars to be real or harmful.

2/8.Recently, I had the privilege of representing Ms. Taibat Hussain @aduragbataibat, ED of Rising Child Foundation @risingchild17, to facilitate a session on “Understanding and Recognizing GBV” at the SheRise Fellowship @Sherisefellows.

1/8.Not all violence leaves bruises. Some wounds are emotional: invisible, but deeply scarring. I once met a lady who was never physically hit, yet everything about her spoke of pain. She told her story and it stayed with me.

3/4.Internships might pay little. Sometimes just data or transport. Still do it. The real gain is experience, growth, and references. Update your CV. Build relationships. Start applying for paid roles while you volunteer or intern.

2/4.Volunteer. Intern. Don’t wait for a “Call for Volunteers.”.Reach out. Offer value. Tell them what you can do, and do it for free, for now. But don't make the mistake of approaching it casually. Whether paid or not, people want value. Apply like it's a job.

1/4.Someone asked how to gain project management experience when recruiters want people who already have experience. Here’s what I told them:. Certificates aren't enough. They only matter when backed by real experience. If no one is hiring you yet, create your own opportunities.
