Pretend play is a valuable tool for developing a range of skills. As the child pretends, they take on different roles in a dramatic play scenario and uses their imagination to create and act out stories, situations, and interactions.

📢 You are more than your job title! At the end of the day, you have to have put in some time caring for yourself at some point and in some way during that day. Because if you don't, how will you possibly be able to show up as your best self at work or anywhere else?.

As an OT, it might feel more effective to pull your students into a controlled therapy room to provide intense 1 on 1 therapy. While your session might feel successful, it is not realistic. The difficulties your student is having is within the classroom, not the therapy room.

Not only do students make progress at a faster rate, teachers and parents report improved satisfaction as well. Many OT professionals can probably relate to the experience of having a teacher ask you what “magic” you performed with a student while in a pull out therapy session.
