Never seen Abbey Wood estate looking so bad as it did this weekend. Just a shit show and like a slum across various areas. Dumped crap everywhere. Shameful stuff. Visible decline. Really visible decline. https://t.co/MPVMoKs2RO

As Greenwich make another announcement on cleaning the borough a walk through Abbey Wood again shows the reality of inaction

Another announcement as seen today from @MrOkereke ? Well, they've has 20 years to do the basics in places like Abbey Wood. Never bothered so its spiralled. Who believes them now?

State of Abbey Wood so bad today - I shit you not - random people in street saying how bad it is unprompted to other strangers as dumped rubbish lined the streets. Like a slum. And this is because Labour Greenwich have ignored poorer areas for many years so it spiralled

If they couldn't be bothered to do the basics in areas dumped rubbish was left for 20 years, don't come out now with your slogans and videos. ignored it so it's spiralled. Today was ridiculous. Clearly areas like Abbey Wood aren't important enough for the "Royal" borough.

It's clear as day Greenwich's PR training has kicked in with videos of the leader for social media and a crap slogan. Yet walking to the station again all I'm reminded off is 20 years of failures from Labour in Greenwich. Endless dumped rubbish as they ignored problems for yrs

Will any of the funds go towards poorer areas? Given their lack of interest before, probably not.

Not getting it done. Greenwich make another announcement on improving the borough and reducing dumped rubbish. We've heard similar before and this morning again sees it in the same spots it's been evident daily for 20 years. Never proactive action to stop. Now worse than ever

By failing to get a grip for 20 years it's gone from one spot daily to about six evident and again this morning.

You can always bet that GLLaB will be first in the queue for any funds from any direction. Other outlets follow far behind, including using scarce funds to improve the most deprived areas. All quite odd. More than a whiff a gravy train

How long until more Labour politicians jump ship to the Greens and/or Your Party? Incredibly inept in power. Just screw up after screw up. Thenbattering the areas that still support them such as London.

After Labour's moves on increasing housebuilding this week we can safely say: Pressure on councils isn't going anywhere. Expect many more cuts in services They're still ultimately wedded to failed model of last 40 years Labour in line for electoral demolition

It's not long since Greenwich said they had excess space in their main HQ but now they want to spend £2.6m nearby for GLLaB. £2m S106 and £600k Future High Streets funding. Always money for GLLaB while areas across the borough see little S106 investment in midst of development

Whilst Greenwich can rarely find section 106 income to improve much of the borough - including some the most deprived parts - they've managed to allocate £2,007,111 to GLLaB - yep, them again - through funds to renovate their offices.
