And just like that my two clinical years are done. Huge thanks to the Emergency and Paediatrics crew for teaching me a thing or two but mainly for the banter and good times.

Doing a trauma simulation today at the hospital. In the debrief, one of the nurses noted they weren’t knowledgable on the use of the CAT. Ended up running an impromptu lesson on its use. #TCCCskillsintheED

My reaction I’m thanked for my positive approach to the cleaning and organising system the civilian work place I am at is implementing. (Seemed like Army standard to me)

I’ve been having some foot pain, I think my shoes might be the issue so I am wearing my combat boots to work to test that theory. Why are they so comfortable?!??

Happy Emergency Nurses Day to my fellow Emergency Nurses. If you’re on shift today, may it be peaceful and not require excessive amounts of PPE!

Lessons from Paeds 2: - you know your patient is getting better when: 0 - 2 years - increased oral intake 3 - 7 years - wanting to play and run around the ward 7 - 11 years - become sassy 11 + years - increased sassiness and attitude

So I have finished my Paeds rotation, here are the things I have learned: - parenting is unique to every set of parents, this sometimes means you spend more nursing effort is directed to the parents than the patient. - you need to be good at maths More to follow….
