If anyone's interested, this isn't painting so much as it is underpainting. I've always liked the line work on Drew Struzan posters, so I leave my pencil layer on top and then paint with dry brushes and watercolours underneath. I think it's a neat look, especially for a western.

Snow created what is, in my opinion, the defining horror sound of the 90s. There's no better example than The X-Files episode "Triangle" (S06E03), which blends the shows spooky synthy soundtrack with 40s jazz as the episode moves between those two time periods. RIP.
Mark Snow, the veteran television composer who turned "The X-Files" theme into an unlikely chart hit in the 1990s, died at 3:30 a.m. Friday at his home in Connecticut. He was 78.

I should also say that it is extremely inadvisable to draw an entire issue of a series before you even know if there's a chance a publisher might pick it up. However, I am a deeply stupid person. Do as I say and not as I do.

I still have a few pages left, and to be totally honest, it's feels a little sad that I'll be done with it soon. This is only issue 1, but there's a strong possibility that no publishers might be interested, which means I might not get to draw any more of it. Strange feelings.
