Had a quick go at Yakuza 0 PC version. There are no controller vibrations during cutscenes. I missed them! I guess as consolation the cutscenes now run at 120+fps at 4K.

Somehow PS1 emulators have become useless pieces of crap over the past 10 years. Spent 4 hours yesterday testing all the emulators, and I found Xebra is the best/least bad. It has no Xbox pad support at all, but it can at least run games accurately in a resizable window.

I saw one of those 70" Sharp 8K TVs running 8K demo material. The difference compared to 4K was barely perceptible unless you mashed your face against the screen. I think you'll need a screen 2-4x larger for the resolution to start making sense.

Went to Kamakura today. Huge crowds, temples, woods. Another good day.

Went up Mount Takao. 70 mins each way. Loved it. Good atmosphere among the hikers.

I’ve yet to see a Japanese person properly wash their hands after using a public toilet. All my travel companions are also on the lookout, and the situation is grim.

Went to the Tokyo Headphone Festival. I had three conversations with different people about earpad ergonomics and their effects on frequency response. It was great.

Theater Square exists, except there’s no Sega arcade, and the bowling alley is a VR Zone. The yakiniku restaurant next to the parking lot is exactly the same as the games. In 6 they added a hotel with cafe, it exists irl.

Somehow ended up in Tokyo. Went to some of my favorite spots in Yakuza. Here’s the real locations alley behind New Serena, Public Park nr 3, and the porn mag dispenser alley. Sadly neither park 3 nor porn mag alley are real.

Bought that critically acclaimed new game about a shirtless dad who is like a god of war.

Been watching The West Wing for the first time, enjoying it quite a bit. It has almost none of the stupid romance subplots that ruined Newsroom. The only thing that consistently riles me up is the old PowerBooks with the flipped logo. How could Steve think this was ok??

Every time I see footage of someone wearing headphones my eyes go to the size adjustment to get a feel for how big their head is. Just one notch, tiny!

Can't believe it. Today High DPI support was added to the Steam client! Years after iTunes, Skype, and Notepad added it. Glad Valve finally managed to catch up to the standard of these beloved Windows applications.

6 years after buying it I finished Yakuza: Dead Souls. Trashy as all hell, wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Also, it was more ambitious than 99% of zombie games/movies and succeeded in everything it set out to do. I had a great time. But don't play it.

One of this month's PS Plus games is Mighty No 9, so I just played a couple levels. It's just competent enough not to have any novelty value whatsoever. I was hoping to play something extraordinary, like Rogue Warrior. Instead, I got ReCore.

The problem with all these reviews of the new Death Wish is that even though they all really hate the movie, the way they describe it makes it sound like it's actually awesome. However, Eli Roth has never directed anything that was awesome. There is no trust to be had these days.
