National park pays influencers for 'be kind' drive. . A decade of promotion, no corresponding investment in required infrastructure, polite requests still won’t work with our worst offenders. Actions must have consequences. . Poachers turned gamekeepers? . https://t.co/IhpDYbmTP6

Fly camping, litter and bad parking are regular problems across the Lake District.

Word of the day is ‘recrudescence’ (17th century): the return of something terrible after a time of reprieve.

Jumping on my bike to head to the outskirts of Sheffield after the one hour #TdF highlights on a balmy 1980s summer evening is where my love affair of cycling began. As good as Discovery is, it won’t provide the hook for a new generation. 🚴 Sad times? New times.

People were just grateful to be treated like a human being, with respect and empathy.

What struck me when I talked to people (like any northerner in London) was so many were just like you and I, many had a story I could imagine myself in, things had in many cases just taken an unfortunate sequence of events, and their life had unraveled.

Imagine the inhumanity of taking a photo and walking by, not offering a drink, or a chat to understand. I spent 3 years working out of London and used to take old outdoor clothes I no longer needed to hand out in winter. When I left the job I said my goodbyes to familiar faces.
This is now in Mayfair, just walked passed. what is going on @MayorofLondon this can’t be right. 💔
