Good morning! Your friendly neighborhood January 6th Plaque here. All dressed up and nowhere to go. Sitting in the dark. Location: not sure, but not where I should be. Someone please ask @SpeakerJohnson how much longer he plans to keep me hidden away?

Two Jan 6 police responders filed civil suit seeking court order for the plaque to be hung Justice Dept filed request tonight seeking more time to respond in the civil case.
The plaque still hasn't been hung It was required under law to be hung on west front of Capitol by mid-2023 Congressional leadership has not responded to our inquiries about it

3. If the Architect made the wrong plaque, well dang gee golly what could be done about that? A new one could be made then wouldn’t be hung, just as I haven’t been, because @SpeakerJohnson has orders to never do it.

2. Missing names on my face is least of the ways the law is being broken here. It is laughable that this is something the government cares about. It’s all an excuse to not have me installed—which is the main Bad Thing™️ here.

1. I could be installed today, as is, and it would go a long way to healing the country including the officers who bravely defended against the MAGA onslaught. A different plaque, if different from what the law says I am, could still serve while another is being made.

Bookmark this for the investigations to come: the Trump team’s boat bombings trace back to at least 2018. That’s when White House officials asked me & others about whether they could do something like this. We said it was illegal then. Now they’ve done it anyway.
