The first rains are tainted with smoggy sulphur, acidic and certainly bad to drink. For water to finally arrive but have to still wait would be so very difficult.

Whenever Iblis was defeated, I wonder if it would rain for a while. Without the boiling heat of that monster, maybe the clouds of smog turn into that of stormy rain for a while. The thick rainclouds would linger until that monster's return...
