In the first half of 2025, these 18 countries had between 5% and 10% of all their cars sold fully electric. There are now 50 markets total that are at over 5% of all their car sales fully electric. Some of these markets show strong growth now. 10/

In the first half of 2025, there were 13 markets that saw between 10% and 20% of all cars sold fully electric. That's every tenth to every fifth car sold there, fully electric. There are now 32 markets total that are at over 10% of all their car sales fully electric. 9/

While global EV sales grew 29.1% in first half of 2025, out of the ~60 markets that I analyzed (making up 98% of all EV sales that took place), 47 countries grew their EV sales YoY, and 13 markets decreased in EV sales YoY. I guarantee that some of these will surprise you: 6/

These are the ten largest EV markets in the world, which make up 84% of all EVs sold. China alone is 56.5% of all sales already. Germany fought back it's #3 spot from the UK. Türkiye and India now on the map. The rEVolution is happening in unexpected places. 5/

We've come a long way. In 2010, just 7,200 battery electric cars were sold globally for the whole year. Today, the same amount of BEVs is sold every 5.3 hours! 5,929,052 battery electric vehicles were sold globally in H1 2025, growing 29.1% year over year. 2/
