I had no up and down on the hydro when I started. It was a lot of back and forth with your hand. We sure thought we had something when dad bought that.

Had to put the 1688 in to finish the last 10 acres of corn. This 1480 is the one I learned in. My family ran 3 of them in wheat growing up. Good times! 6000 hours and it all still works. 2000 on newer 6088s and harnesses go to crap.

1460…. I spent two summers following around a 1680. Neighbor hired me for wheat harvest. They were Two brothers that cared for their land and equipment like family. Best summers ever.

Oh yes. It was sure nice when they moved to electric over hydraulic for the header height. We had a 79 that was levers and an 81 that was the switch. We ran those two 1480s until we traded then for one 1688. Then ended up picking up a two year old 1680 to be back to two.
