Not really on here any more because... everything. However, I'm looking for someone to take over maintenance of rentrez, a widely used #rstats @rOpenSci package for getting data from ncbi. Would be great to see this maintained abs improved. GH Issue:

My first in person CDGN meeting. The connection to the Australian state and territory labs using genomics for public health is so immensely valuable for @ESRNewZealand , amazing to be able to discuss this face to face today!

First result from this project on the viruses our migratory birds carry to and from New Zealand and the subantartics. Detection of a low path. flu not closely related to previously sequenced genomes.

Rhys' korean uncle sent a lego train to nz. It was missing one little piece, so I googled 'lego missing pieces' , filled in a form, forgot about it. This arrived from the UK today

Some fun science today, sequencing a clinical legionella sample directly (no culturing step). Here is the gridion selectively spitting out host reads so we get more bacteria in our data
