That's not how it works. Prayer isn't about uttering magic words in hopes of being kept "safe." It is a subversive and energetic practice/disclipline by which we make ourselves conduits for goodness and grace to move within a world we already KNOW is broken and "unsafe".
At 1st I thought of saying, “Imagine being told your house of faith isn’t safe anymore.”
But I couldn’t say “imagine.”

Tonight I realized I am profoundly grateful to have regained most of my brain function after a terrifying bout of neuro-Lyme. It took almost 6 yrs of circuitous recovery & I hv permanent balance & organizational issues but mind/memory intact. Not sure I’ve thanked God enough.
