My lukewarm take is that sometimes you need a relationship that makes you feel so safe that you let yourself unravel. So not a person who triggers you into the work but someone who gives you a safe landing for the work to reveal itself.
my hot take is that there's only so much self-development you can do on your own, a lot of the actual growth takes place when you're in relationships with people and are able to overcome your limitations through subtle tests by being in that arena with someone
