Leaving the classroom has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, so why am I still struggling? I miss lesson planning and creating activities. However, I do NOT in ANY way, shape, or form miss the grading, the mean helicopter parents, or the apathy from students.

Zoom interview tomorrow and my stomach is already in knots.

I’m working in a school run by the students. Absolutely no consequences for their actions. Late to class for 30th time this semester? It’s ok, do better tomorrow. A kid failing literally everyone of his classes? It’s ok, he has a job and is tired — give him partial credit.

I’ve applied to three jobs in 24 hours. Had to decline an interview for one of them after they told me the salary. I have a kid in college and can’t afford a $20,000 pay cut 😩

Applying for a job at a college that isn’t teaching, who do I include for references? I know no other people than who I’ve worked with for all these years.

I have zero idea how to make a resume that isn’t all about teaching. I need examples with specific transition out of teaching language to look at, but I’m struggling to find one.
