Disappointed to hear of such cases. I empathize, speaking from personal experience: my work has also been unethically used, yet when I’ve tried to diplomatically address the issues, I too have received denials, threats & passive aggressive reactions.

Thanks to #Bungendore Public School for hosting this PL yesterday, joined with #Gundaroo & #Sutton Public Schools. We focussed on building knowledge for responsive, targeted teaching; supporting students who find spelling hard but also extending high potential & gifted students.

It's been a super 3 days, supporting the dedicated #teachers @burkeward @heathwild, examining CoSTEY & CoST data, discussing ways to refine a targeted, systematic, explicit teaching approach, incl. how to integrate spelling instruction with reading, vocab & text composition.

I came across some of my materials, stemming from my PhD data. Here, I show my very early & personal scribbles of my qualitative analysis of just 1 student writing sample (of many) - apologies for the poor image quality, plus some early workshop materials I used at the time.

In 'record', when used as a verb, the schwa is in the 1st syllable (which is unstressed). While I'm on the topic of linguistic terms, I'd like to RECORD (verb) & set the RECORD (noun) straight 4 those who may not know the origins of some key terms & acronyms I've used for 10+ yrs
