Honored to work with @GeorgeVasmatzis on this exciting individualized tool to track #gbm. #braintumorawarenessmonth
A Mayo Clinic study suggests that a personalized blood test tailored to each patient's tumor DNA could provide a faster and less invasive way to determine if the cancer is advancing. Learn more: https://t.co/bmt1MCLtIR

Big thanks to @IvyFoundation for supporting this grant: “Individualized CSF Proteomics for Real-Time Glioma Espionage.” Why must patients die to know if an experimental drug works (current status quo)? We suggest harness CSF for actionable answers while patients are still alive!
Congrats @TerryBurnsLab and TEAM for being awarded a Translational Adult Glioma Ivy Award to establish the CSF Glioma proteome. @MayoClinicNeuro @DoctorQMd @BernardBendokMD

Social media enables anyone with an internet connection to try and drown out the voice of actual experts. Facts, evidence, and experience matter. But their perceived value is declining. Our lives and society may depend on restoring expert’s voices.

To reject the notion of expertise, and to replace it with a sanctimonious insistence that every person has a right to his or her own opinion, is silly.

Humbling-Negative results rarely get published. What actually gets published is a biased corner of reality. This selection bias makes published results look 3x better than real truth. Critical & easy fix: Pre-register studies! #openscience #mayoclinic #gbm

Brain tumors have a tragic way of finding the most inspiring people! Awake brain surgery is a collaboration of trust between provider team and the patient. But the most critical member of the team may be unseen. #GBM #Grace #mayoclinicneuro
