Happy New Year 🥳 . 2024 was a record breaking year for games watched beating 2021 and 2022 by 12. Had to stay local for much of the year for various reasons and lots of ‘field hopping’ rather than the usual terraces. #Groundhopping

Mrs Terrace Traveller has vetoed any football stops on the way home! She has endured three games this week in Cornwall so I can’t really complain!.

This would have been an awesome chance to tick off Home Park tomorrow on my way home… but I’ve got the dog with me!.

Anyone know if any games along any of these three routes for tomorrow (Sunday 31st August? . Looking for a stop off on the drive home from Cornwall to Southampton. A women’s game at 2pm would be ideal!

The visitors had a few fans that made the journey despite the wet weather. This flag made me chuckle- a big debate in the South West corner of the UK.

Game 30. @EmiratesFACup 1st Round Qual. @Falmouth_Town 0-5 @BrixhamAFC (Johansen x2, Moxon x2, Harford) . Brixham victorious vs 10 man Falmouth. The hosts gave their faithful fans very little to cheer about behind the goal as Brixham ran riot for 90 minutes.

And yes- dogs are allowed! 🐕 . Another one for the map @nonleaguedogs . Thanks to everyone who replied to the earlier tweet!

Game 29. @swpleague Premier West. @STDAYAFC1 0-1 @StickerAFC (Guest) . St Day succumb to their 6th straight defeat in all competitions. Both sides struggled tonight and it showed. One goal in the first half enough to win it for the visitors and lifts them to 9th in the table

Anyone know if @STDAYAFC1 is dog friendly? Hoping to head to the game vs @StickerAFC tonight with my little four-legged friend. @nonleaguedogs.

Game 28. @StPiranLeague Premier West. @MullionFC 5-0 @penrynafc (#9 x2, #6, #8, #17) . Mullion back to winning ways with an emphatic 5-0 win. A trio of headers put the hosts in control before a neat volley and a counter attack settled the tie.

My trip to Cornwall is starting to take shape!. Wed: @MullionFC v @penrynafc .Fri: @STDAYAFC1 v @StickerAFC .Sat: @Falmouth_Town v @BrixhamAFC . Looking for a Sunday option for somewhere between St Ives and Southampton that could work to break the journey up a bit on the way back.

Not sure I fancy a drive out to a new ground, but not sure I am up for any of the more local options either.

Game 27. @IsthmianLeague Prem. @LewesFCMen 3-0 @Official_BHTFC (Gayle, Bennett, Figueira) . Lewes make it 4 wins on the bounce in front of a bumper 1,352 crowd! Goalless at the break, 2 goals from corners followed before a late 3rd to kill the game off completely! What a ground!

And not a bad lunch spot either!

Game 26. @TheSCFL Div 1 . @SelseyFootballC 0-0 @loxwoodfc1920 . My first stalemate of the season. Poor for the most part but a lovely ground and decent clubhouse. Selsey probably deserved it today and were unlucky not to get their first win of the season.

That morning I’d played a junior match on the neighbouring pitches and ended up watching the game. Aged 12 I remember very little from the game, but just done some digging on the internet to see what I could find from the match. A WPL North game (assume 3rd or 4th tier).

The one and only other time I watched @CreweAlexWomen was back in January 2007 at the Cumberland ground. They won 3-0 that day too…. Against @ManCityWomen 😳. Wonder what some of the players from that game are up to now, nearly 20 years on!.

Also… my 450TH GROUND! . Feels like a nice milestone but closing in on 500 would be cool. I used to train here as a kid so didn’t really feel like a new ground- but cool to see a game here.

Game 25 . North West Women’s League Premier. @CreweAlexWomen 3-0 @poultonvicslfc (Martin, Edwards x2) . Crewe made it 2 wins from 3 this season with a win over newly promoted Poulton. The visitors had a couple of spells in the game but the Alex took their chances for the 3 points
