Today Zoé presented to us the results of her MSc thesis research, in which she investigated insect communities in relation to green roof characteristics in Ingolstadt. She finds that abiotic characteristics, but not management, have a strong effect on insect taxa.

Today, Antonia finished her MSc thesis in our Tansy chemodiversity team. She spent all summer counting aphids and predators on different plant chemotypes, and found little effect on predator communities, but interesting effects on feeding rates. Congrats Antonia!

Today, PhD candidate Marlene gave us an insight into her PhD project on the effects of Douglas fir admixture on aboveground biodiversity in her public Thesis Advisory Committee meeting. Impressive design, results and progress so far. Great work, Marlene!

This morning, Viky Culshaw presented to us the inner workings of her multitrophic home-range models. Once validated, these models will provide very useful insights, for instance into studying the effects of disturbances in the landscape for animal populations.
