Its 36 years since the World Junior Championships in Puerto Rico, 1989. Winning the silver medal for my country was one of my proudest moments. Some photos of myself with Eamonn Maguire, Patsy McKenna and my family 👍🏻🥊

30 years ago today, Wayne McCullough would win the WBC Bantamweight title defeating champion, Yasuei Yakushiji in Japan. In doing so he would become the first Irish or British boxer to win a world title in Japan. He would also become Ireland’s first ever WBC world champion 🥊

Congratulations to Katie Taylor who defeated Amanda Serrano for a 3rd time. Katie won convincingly on points for me in a more cagey affair than the first 2 fights. I would love to see Katie sail off in the sunset as #1 as she has nothing else to prove at 39 years old. ❤️🥊 🇮🇪
