I have made roughly around $70K in my entire apex journey. This includes salary, tournament winnings and twitch income. However, this was over the span of 4 years. That's an average of around ~$1500/month, which would put me at the poverty line in America, if it was my only job.

Apex orgs dropping players or entire rosters for lack of performance but those same orgs failing to mandate team practice aka showing up to scrims will never make sense to me. It's a two way street. Org's lack of accountability are equally to blame for a team's poor performance.
