Today was my last day helping @windsurf transition teams, and I just wanna publicly say how damn awesome Windsurf’s (largely unsung) Summer interns have been. Truly a weird internship, but they’re a genuinely amazing group of people and engineers. They just kept going.

The cope is usually: “I thought this might not be up-to-date.”. Believe me, if I am even close to considering a job change, I will remove the bold text saying I don’t want to change jobs on almost every page.

I’d say I’m surprised at how often this deliberate misreading happens but honestly, I’d be surprised if it happened less

I honestly very much enjoy reading these things, and I think many of these writers just expect their readers to have the media literacy to know they’re not an expert and they don’t think this topic is the be-all-and-end-all, but it can sometimes be hard to tell from the writing.

“Big meta signing bonuses ? Hmm, what would Arthur Crock write about this?”. “Something happened to a Waymo? Time for my Pulitzer.”. “I last wrote code in freshman year, but my take on ‘vibe coding’ is super unique. ”. (This isn’t a subtweet, aware some writers I like follow me).

God give me the confidence of (especially Substack) writers who write on basically every Silicon Valley hot topic, regardless of their knowledge of the topic or its actual importance, as if either of those things merits them trying to put together a well-written think piece.

My hot take is this book is a mid-at-best remnant of one of the most pseudoscientific parts of cybernetics. Meadows and Forrester both did cool work, but this particular book is basically all the most obvious, substance-less, and useless pop-sci in their research.

orbifolds were almost called foldimanis or manifoldeds. either would have been better than what we got, but i also want to suggest:.- foldifolds .- folded manifolds.- stabilicosetfolds.- thurstifolds.- etale lie groupoids.- quotifolds.- those base things for Seifert-fibered tori.

Some people in my DMs were arguing this person’s case. I agree that missing the initial follow back is beyond acceptable. What I’m worried about is really *today*. It implies they either don’t think I’m interesting enough to stalk, or they stalked me and still didn’t follow back.

is it rude if an acquaintance sends you a recruiting email, but they still haven't followed you back on twitter.
