The Eastern Ganga dynasty first ruled from Dantapuram and later from Kalinganagara (both in #Srikakulam, #AndhraPradesh). They were among the earliest rulers to use #Telugu in inscriptions, one such early inscription was found at the Mukhalingeswara Temple, Mukhalingam.☀️

A 1936 "2 Annas" coin of British India featuring 4 major Indian languages—#Telugu (రెండు అణాలు), #Hindi, #Urdu & #Bengali. It shows how Telugu was recognised as the voice of the South before 1947. Post independence, Hindi was prioritised, sidelining Telugu and other languages.

PALNAD MARBLE, a white limestone from the #Palnadu region of #AndhraPradesh, was the primary material used for the exquisite sculptures of the Amaravati School of Art. Used since the 3rd century BCE and it further flourished during the Satavahana period.☀️
