Mental well-being isn’t just important for humans — it affects all animals, including horses. Cracker was rescued and suffers from separation anxiety, which means he gets stressed when he’s on his own. To help him feel safe and secure, we make sure to limit the time he spends

We always consider our horses’ mental state as part of their overall well-being. This is a key element of the Five Domains Framework, which we use as our welfare assessment tool to ensure our horses thrive in every aspect of their lives.

Children spend the day with us learning how to care for and truly understand the needs of horses - with a riding lesson included. We don’t offer stand-alone riding lessons, because we believe the next generation must improve the welfare of our horses, not just ride them.

We’re really looking forward to our interview with the judges from the @equestrianbusinessawards today! It’s our opportunity to talk to them about what we love - working with our children and our horses. Is there a more perfect job?

Goldie & Bertie love the social windows between the stables — they can still see and touch each other even when they’re in. Bertie is having a short rest from the grass to keep him healthy, and Goldie has kindly offered to keep him company.

Every horse needs a bestie to get into mischief with! Winter & Marley are investigating incase the gator is bringing any snacks their way! In the wild, horses often pair up in “buddy systems.” Take one away and the other might fret — because true friendship runs deep. ✨

We’re were so excited to see our friend @scarlettworrowequestrian for today’s clinic. Her lessons always make sure our ponies are happy and relaxed on the flat before moving on to some showjumping. We always finish feeling like we’ve learnt so much! 🙌 #EquestrianLife

Yesterday we had our full @maidstonebc riding school licence inspection - we always welcome a full audit! We strive to be the very best we can be, and if there’s ever something we can improve, we want to know so we can put it right.

C’mon, everybody in… 🐴 Today is our Riding School Inspection and all 30 of our ponies are coming in to meet the inspectors from @maidstonebc. Quite the military operation when they usually live in a field a good 10-minute walk away!

It was a beautiful evening at Tutsham Farm last night. The ponies were peacefully grazing alongside their friends, content in the safety of their herd. Horses have an inherent need for companionship – it’s part of their very telos, their true nature.

This is a way of life. Horses thrive when their environment mirrors the one nature intended – with space to roam, varied grazing to choose from, and trees for shelter, shade, and scratching.

After a busy week and yesterday’s show, today feels slower — exactly what Sundays are all about. With a busy, action-packed week ahead, we’re soaking up the calm and making the most of the slower pace today. #SundayVibes #EnjoyTheRide #HorsingAround #EquestrianLife

We loved watching our riders in action at the @smpevents showjumping today! Held at Tutsham Farm, it was brilliantly inclusive opportunity for everyone to get involved. No matter the results, you should all be so proud of yourselves — we definitely are! #Showjumping

Gary & Spring are showing us that horses are deeply social animals. As natural herd creatures, they thrive in the company of others, drawing comfort, safety, and mental balance from their companions. Isolation can cause stress and unease, which is why our horses are never alone.
