After almost two months in hospital with COVID-19, Tim, who is a Porter and HCA at

walked out of the hospital with a big thumbs up. We wish him the very best for the rest of his recovery.
Today
#TeamQEH
came together to celebrate Lee’s recovery. Lee left our hospital after battling Covid-19 for 5 weeks, 2 of which on a ventilator in our Intensive Care Unit.
His family and staff from across the Trust lined the corridors to share this special moment with him.
29 of our patients who tested positive for COVID-19 have now recovered sufficiently to be discharged. We’d like to thank teams across every part of the Trust for their hard work, compassion and dedication as we respond to the challenge of COVID-19 together.
We are so pleased to welcome our new Chief Nurse, April Brown.
April has been a registered nurse for 28 years, working in organisations such as WHO & CQC, & is a Florence Nightingale Scholar for Research & Leadership.

Yesterday, we discharged the amazing Pete, who has been in hospital with COVID-19 since the beginning of April after spending weeks in a Coma under the care of Team QEH and Papworth.

Our Procurement team is ahead of the game in helping the hospital to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The department has been proactive in ensuring there are stocks of PPE and other equipment, a practice that was introduced in response to other IP&C outbreaks in the past.

We have administered over 10,000 COVID-19 vaccinations so far🙌 This includes over 70s, the clinically extremely vulnerable and QEH, ambulance, care home and NHS partners staff.

The Team of the Week is….Shouldham! This amazing team fulfilled a family’s wishes by organising a wedding on the ward in less than five hours, which included food, registrar and even a wedding dress.
This week's Team of the Week goes to Patient Advice and Liaison Service & Complaints Team. The team have been working tirelessly to support patients and members of the community with the queries in light of the COVID-19 epidemic. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.
Anaesthetist, Dr Alistair Steel, has been shortlisted for the Leader of the Year Award.
Alistair was nominated an amazing 5 times, with colleagues commending him on his excellent leadership at the height of the pandemic, such as regular WhatsApp video updates!
