From here, I look forward to sharing about what my new life looks like and thanking the many people who got me here to this….hmm, what to call this stage of life….Reboot? .Post-traumatic growth?.Adventure launch pad??? . No disparaging comments please. This is hard enough.

Clearly, I’m still lost – it’s a state of mind I am learning to accept. It is why I started this August of Gratitude series, because it brings me back to the touchstones that keep me grounded.

…powerless to untangle or repair the clumps of live wires that became crossed and frayed, the little fires you thought were out but kept on smoldering until the whole thing burned down.

Unless you have been through divorce, it’s impossible to understand how insane you can make yourself revisiting what went wrong….

His reasons are his own and not mine to share, but here is where our 22-year path together splits.

*August of Gratitude* -- DAY 3: Truth 💣. Unlike @go_on_be_brave, real life doesn’t end with a kiss and the triumphant completion of 50 marathons in Alaska. With sadness, I want to let you know that our marriage has come to an end.

Go go go to your nearest one …it’s PEACH 🍑 season after all!.

August of Gratitude — DAY 2: Farmers Markets. @cabannie and I went to the NC Farmers Market this week and I re-learned (as in every single time I go) how much better, cheaper, and rewarding to actually see & support the farmers who are feeding you.

…sometimes you just don’t know where the next sparkle of joy will come from until it happens ✨.

Starting with my fav pic of the year, snapped by 7yo Sophie at brunch after her triathlon when she stole her mom @cathysechrist ‘s phone. I freaking *loved* seeing all the mini humans 🏊‍♀️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️ their little hearts out, esp this lil hockey/ninja/swim/artist 💖….

We were inspired to learn about Journey League’s wonderful mission to empower athletes with disabilities, and by Meagan sharing Michael’s BRAVE story of using his talents after his ALS diagnosis to conduct ALS Research at NCSU. 💚3/4.

Together with @journey_league and @megbereman we talked about how important it is to ✨defy a diagnosis✨ and keep appreciating the gifts our bodies can still give us. 💪💪💪.💚2/4.

So freaking in awe of my dear friend @cathysechrist ‘s daughter Sophie (she’s SEVEN!!! 🤯) who ROCKED her swim & bike at the @smiley_triathlon_festival!! Just gotta sort out those side stitches on the run and she will be UNSTOPPABLE!!!! 💚💪💚
