When I reflect on my time in the classroom, I am positive I got this wrong more than I got it right. The system was poor and I hated it, but I still followed it.
(1/11) Pulling together a few resources white educators can use to start antiracist work in one specific subcategory: your school's approach to behavior management. There's plenty to do there. If you haven't already, start looking deeply at it now before the school year starts.

My 9 year old chose The Diary of Anne Frank at a trip to a local book store early this summer. While she is moving slowly through the book, her interest in Anne is growing. From quizzing my grandmother about WWII to finding this interactive video tour of their hiding place.

I want them to create amazing products that show the world what they’ve learned and what they’re interested in. I have found that if I can give my Ss choices, I get amazing results!
