Because now. My mom can finally agree that she’s beautiful. She laughs with her whole belly. She still tells me she loves me every day. I’ve felt the depths of my care for her and gotten to prove it. And I miss her so very much.

That said, I could say so much, and when more of my peers find themselves in similar situations (hopefully a long time from now), I am ready to be a resource of humor, care, mutual anger and sadness, and to offer a small well of silver linings.

I’ve thought a lot about posting vs not about my mom’s early-onset Alzheimer’s journey (and therefore my journey) over the last 8 years and have opted for less because our communities are so small and I want to pick and choose how often I talk about it all.

I’m hopeful to gather a small handful of options to rotate between as to not over-tax anyones generosity. Bonus points for a vehicle and good proximity to Delaney Park (near the home).

The rest of the internet gets to hear how excited I am to performer in Ketchikan this week. Twitter gets to hear that that excitement is mixed with that is a SOLID about of fear. Playing music solo outside of my hometown is pretty novel. Oof.
